New Intrinsically Safe 8 input 4/20mA Indicators Introduced

A new 8 input, panel mounting 4/20mA intrinsically safe indicator has recently joined the extensive range of loop powered indicators designed and manufactured by BEKA associates.

The new space saving BA329 indicator displays up to eight 4/20mA inputs on a 7 inch panel mounting IP66 backlit display.  No programming is required.  The BA329 is easily configured and calibrated on-site via the eight front touch buttons using a simple intuitive menu, which will be familiar to anyone who has configured a BEKA loop powered indicator.

Nine different display formats, some including bargraphs, enable one, two, four or eight input variables to be shown together on a screen. Each variable can be displayed with individual units of measurement and loop tag information, and each group of variables can have a custom title.  Ideal for displaying multiple tank or pump parameters.

There are two versions of the new indicator, both having IECEx, ATEX and UKEX Ex ia gas and dust certification.   The BA329-GL has a toughened glass display window and is intended for general intrinsic safety applications in Zones 1, 2, 20 and 21.  The BA329-PC has a certified impact resistant polycarbonate window with a hard scratch resistant window.  The impact certification allows the BA329-PC to be mounted in an Ex e or Ex t enclosure without invalidating the enclosure's certification.  The BA329-PC can therefore safely display multiple 4/20mA variables when installed in an Ex e gas or Ex t dust certified enclosure or panel.

Each 4/20mA input is galvanically isolated and has zero intrinsic safety output parameters complying with the requirement of Simple Apparatus, allowing connection in series with almost any intrinsically safe loop.

Although configuration and calibration can easily be performed on-site via the front panel touch buttons, both models can be supplied configured and calibrated to customers requirements ready for installation for no additional charge.
