Each of the five instruments can easily be conditioned via the integral push buttons or HART® communication to work with resistance thermometer, thermocouple, voltage or resistance inputs. An optional loop powered backlight enables the display to be read in poor lighting conditions and optional dual alarms allow under or over temperature warnings to be generated. The unique BA474ND is Ex n certified permitting installation in Zone 2 or 22, it has an isolated intrinsically safe sensor input that may be directly connected to a sensor in any gas or dust hazardous area, all without the need for a Zener barrier or galvanic isolator, thus significantly reducing cost. The intrinsically safe BA474D has conventional and associated apparatus certification allowing connection to a sensor in any gas or dust hazardous area when the transmitter is installed in a safe area, again without the need for a Zener barrier or galvanic isolator.
