Rugged loop-powered indicators offer more features and are less expensive
BEKA associates have introduced a new range of rugged IP66 field mounting 3½ and 4½ digit loop-powered indicators which can display process variables in almost any environment. Housed in a new custom designed GRP enclosure providing improved display visibility and a separate compartment for the field wiring terminals, these instruments can be installed and commissioned without exposing the display electronics. The separate compartment contains field wiring terminals with forward facing cable entries and clamping screws which greatly simplifies installation and subsequent inspection.
To minimise cost, an extensive range of accessories allow each instrument to be tailored to its application. Options include display backlighting, alarms, linearisers and built-in calibrators, plus an extensive range of marking and mounting hardware. The control push-buttons are normally protected behind a separate sealed cover, but when frequent adjustment is required the instrument can be fitted with a robust external membrane keypad.
In addition to general purpose loop-powered indicators, the 'D range' includes intrinsically safe ATEX certified models for use in all potentially explosive atmospheres. For applications in lower risk Zone 2 hazardous areas, EEx n certified instruments compliant with the new European standard EN50021:1999 are included which do not require Zener barriers or galvanic isolators, thus further reducing installation cost.
Not only do the 'D range' instruments have enhanced functions and the latest certification, but improved production techniques have allowed the list price to be less than the 'C' models which they replace.
As with all BEKA products, the 'D range' indicators are supplied calibrated to customer's requirements free of charge, and are covered by a three year guarantee.
